About us
A small roastery: three people, one drum roaster and one rule — whatever we pay for green coffee, we publish.
Meridián started in 2019 in Žabovřesky, Brno. We began with a three-kilo roaster in a garage and two cafés willing to take a chance on us.
How we buy
We buy green coffee directly from co-operatives in Ethiopia and Colombia, or through an importer who puts us in touch with the farm. For every lot we publish:
- the name of the co-operative or farm,
- the harvest year and processing,
- the FOB price we paid, in USD per pound.
The 2025 numbers
| Origin | Volume | FOB price |
|---|---|---|
| Ethiopia Guji | 1,200 kg | USD 4.10/lb |
| Colombia Huila | 1,800 kg | USD 3.55/lb |
For comparison, the arabica exchange price over the same period hovered around USD 2.40 a pound.
